Your Questions About Green Living

Sharon asks…

isn’t Obama stealing (borrowing) Dennis Kucinich’s plan from 2004/2008 here?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081122/ap_on_go_pr_wh/obama_economy

not complaining but it is not the first time he took the same things Kucinich said for years. I don’t know..although I voted for him, I just don’t trust him like I do Kucinich.

any comments on this question or Obama’s plan to create millions of jobs..about time they do some alternative energy things.
look you frickin b..I voted and campaigned for thew man. i have a right, due to our freedom of speech laws, to comment on him. Another coward who makes rude comments and blocks email comments. I like the guy, but he did steal Kucinich’s plan and take the credit himself. You get over it, loser

The Expert answers:

I don’t trust him like I do Kucinich either.

But then, I wrote in Ron Paul.

Take care.

Donna asks…

Do you think Barack Obama is the new FDR?

That’s what I heard them say on the news. He’s certainly going to have more challenges to face than any President since FDR. Our economy is in the worst shape since The Great Depression. Do you think his new program to invest in alternative energy is another New Deal with a new alphabet soup program? Do you think he’ll legalize pot and tax the $hit out of it like FDR repealed Prohibition? I know he wants to legalize stem-cell research which I’m all in favor of.
FDR was Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He was arguably the most popular President we ever had. He is the only President to have served more than two terms. He died during his fourth term.
I am in favor of stem-cell research because most of those cells are going to be destroyed anyway. I believe it’s past time we legalized it so we can find a cure to cancer, AIDS, paralysis, and other diseases. If the US is the greatest country in the world and we always have to tell other people how to run their governments, then the least we can do is lead by example.

The Expert answers:

He has striking similarities. I guess that shows his hypocrisy in his comment that he wasn’t like our other presidents 😛

You should know that while the New Deal created a lot of great stuff, like highways, it didn’t cure the depression and some people think it made it worse. Alternative energy would be similar, you create a short term stimulus by creating jobs and investing in infrastructure, but when you’re done building all the solar and wind farms, all of those people are unemployed again. And worse, everyone working at nuke plants or coal plants or anything else that generates electricity is in danger of losing their jobs to the automated solar or wind farm.

He won’t legalize pot. First of all, he can’t, congress would have to write that law, and it’s not worth him risking the fallout. You certainly would not enhance society by making another narcotic vice legal. That’s not change we can believe in, and it certainly isn’t progress. He even said himself that he changed his mind on decriminalization, and that he is against it (he said because he didn’t know what it meant). Besides, you can’t tax weed anyway, it’s a weed, it grows in every climate. Why would you pay a tax on it when you can grow it at home for cheaper?

Stem cell research is LEGAL and has been legal FOREVER. That is not the issue, the issue is whether the government funds it or not, and I don’t think they should, because it’s a lucrative field and the private sector can manage it (and they do!) The government should be in the business of governing the people, not creating companies (like Fannie and Freddie), not managing health care, and not funding research and development.

John asks…

Is the United States in decline?

According to news reports many nations are looking to the euro as a better currency. The high tech jobs that still are here are being filled by h1b visa workers and gates wants to increase the quota. military aircraft are now being built by airbus in favor boeing. It seems our government does not invest in it’s people as it is seeking to send our tax dollars overseas. meanwhile our economy works for the superrich but for the rest of us we’re treading water or sinking. not to mention the gas prices are sky high. after 8 years of bush our country is not prepared for the future. we have no alternative energy strategy. bush wants us to be dependant on his oil buddies. i really feel the US is in decline because of policies that target the short term but do not prepare the nation for the futre. the other huge burden is bush iraq policy which is a financial heavy weight and has tarnished our image worldwide. Prove me wrong but i don’t see things looking very good for this country.

The Expert answers:

I agree. With you .. The problem is common sence is not so common any longer .. The U.S. Is full of people that just take and not give back .. Greed is killing this country’s heart and soul… Still think the few can help the many .. At some point the United states need to learn to take care of there own before there no longer able to ..

Thomas asks…

Climategate: the final nail in the coffin of ‘Anthropogenic Global Warming’?

If you own any shares in alternative energy companies I should start dumping them NOW. The conspiracy behind the Anthropogenic Global Warming myth (aka AGW; aka ManBearPig) has been suddenly, brutally and quite deliciously exposed after a hacker broke into the computers at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (aka Hadley CRU) and released 61 megabites of confidential files onto the internet.

When you read some of those files – including 1079 emails and 72 documents – you realise just why the boffins at Hadley CRU might have preferred to keep them confidential. As Andrew Bolt puts it, this scandal could well be “the greatest in modern science”. These alleged emails – supposedly exchanged by some of the most prominent scientists pushing AGW theory – suggest:

Conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more.

But perhaps the most damaging revelations – the scientific equivalent of the Telegraph’s MPs’ expenses scandal – are those concerning the way Warmist scientists may variously have manipulated or suppressed evidence in order to support their cause.

The Expert answers:

Nothing will come of this (by which I mean no investigation of any kind, except perhaps over the theft of data).

AGW is now a fully functioning industry. There are too many jobs and reputations at stake for the whole thing to be scaled down. It’s like a kind of medieval collective madness with an attached business department.

Mandy asks…

When will Barack Obama put out a good political ad?

He is either trying to link Bush to McCain, with that whole 95% of the time he voted for Bush , But Barack has voted 100% PARTY LINE, that is not a unity centered , if bush is soo dumb and bad, hey why would barack vote 40% of the time with him?politician.policies.http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/is_it_true_john_mccain_voted_with.html

the other thing barack has been doing is bad talking Iraq, o.k. so Iraq has a good profit from oil revenue, GUESS WHAT? at least NOW the people will see some of this, and NOT a dictator! obama is foolish when he dogs Iraq,>>the last paragraph<<http://news.yahoo.com/s/mcclatchy/3010139
does obama want them to spend it fast and foolish like another certain government we know ( ours )?

“Fast Track” alternative energy, HOW? we have been fast tracking it for the past 20 years.

And the last thing i want is a canadite to try and BRIBE me with $1,000 check that he plans on STEALING from a profitable business, WHY? record profits for OIL means record taxes from OIL, how about a WINDFALL profits tax aimed at our BIG government spending!http://www.taxfoundation.org/blog/show/23178.html

So, when will Barack have an ad that has any general substance and American values?

i would agree that mCcain ad’s are pretty lack luster, but for me when Obama basicall wants to BRIBE me with a “stimulus” check that is at best STEALING from a company, when the fact is BIG government is spending WAY too much, thats from the war all the way down to Foriegn AID!

$1,000??? why not make it $1,000,000 for each person, the government could pay that to EVERY person in the United States and have BILLIONS left over

The Expert answers:

When will ANY politician EVER have an ad that has any general substance? Do not watch all of the ads or do you just focus on the Obama ones because you don’t like him? McCain, the “Washington maverick”, puts out the same crap.
