1870’s environmental issues that dangered animals?
Hey so okay I have to do an 8 to 10 page research paper in us history 2. My topic I chose was envirnomental issues that dangered animals. I could also add in some info about endagered animals and that stuff. It has to be between the 1870’s and 1970’s. I’m having trouble finding information. 1. Scientific forestry and plantation system of the Britishers led to devastation of forests, depriving animals of their habitat.
2.Britishers and Indian kings were very fond of hunting or ‘shikar’. There are photos of British officials and Maharajaha Ranjit Singh with rows of 10 to 20 dead tigers.
3. Forests were highly exploited for spreading rail tracks across India so that the Britishers could transport goods and deploy their soldiers.
4.There was lack of awareness among people. All wilderness was thought of as being useless.People used to kill dangerous looking animals on first sight.
5. Britishers saw no benefit in conservation of animals but in the killing of them. Animal parts like tiger skins were thought to represent royal blood.

My government teacher gave us 4 words
Libertarian, Authoritarian, Socialism & Communism, and Capitalism….and then gave us 6 issues: Marijuana Legalization, Gun Control, Environmental Protection, Minimum Wages, Health Care, and Gay Marriage….these words can be used in any of the 4 first words…Anyone wants to help the class??

Oh, these are related. You would have to understand each and every word and know it’s definition.
We’ll start out with
Libertarian: Libertarians believe in as little government intervention as possible. They choose to rely on the free market.
Authoritarian: It’s the exact opposite to a libertarian – against individual freedom.
Socialism & communism: Communism: Money is split evenly among the people.
Socialist: Public ownership of resources.
Capitalism: Capitalism is the private ownership of the means of production.
Details:
– you own yourself
– you have a right to the fruits of your labour, your property
– you have a right to choose enter into voluntary relations with others; and to choose not to associate with them
– you have a right to be free to do what you want, so long as you are not initiating aggression against the person or property of someone else.
And for the 6 issues:
Marijuana Legalization: There are people who believe Marijuana isn’t a drug (It is a drug, mainly because of the THC it contains) those people fight for it, to make it legal.
Gun control: The government allows you to have a gun legally on a few certain conditions. (However, some people are against this)
Environmental protection: To protect our environment. We want to keep our nature clean by picking up garbage, minimizing pollution, sort or garbage and recycle it.
Minimum wages: You boss pays you the least he can by signing a contract or by law.
Health care: Hospitals, doctors, dentists etc.
Gay marriage: Some people who strive to make gay marriage legal.
I think that it should be like this:
Libertarian > Gay marriage
Authoritarian > Gun control
Socialism & communism > Health care > Environmental protection
Capitalism > Minimum wages > Marijuana Legalization
